BRAINERD — The Northern Minnesota Robotics Conference will have its annual Conference Championship event for regional high school robotics teams Friday, Oct. 24, in Brainerd.

The event will be in the gymnasium at Brainerd High School, 702 S.Fifth St., Brainerd.

This is the Northern Minnesota Robotics Conference’s eighth annual championship event which will showcase robots from 27 teams from across Northern Minnesota and North Dakota.

On Oct. 25 there will be another day of robot action during the Northern Minnesota Robotics Conference’s Open Tournament which will feature additional teams from outside the conference. Doors will open to the public at 9 a.m. daily with free admission. The event is expected to continue throughout each day with a lunch break from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and the Championship matches starting around 5 p.m. Concessions will be available on site.

Teams that will be in action over the weekend include Hatton/Northfield, North Dakota; Brainerd; Warroad; Nevis; Cass Lake-Bena; Thief River Falls; Detroit Lakes; Pine River-Backus; Perham ; Alexandria; Blackduck; Moorhead; Upsala; Frazee-Vergas; Little Falls; Bemidji; Big Fork; North East Range (Babbitt); Esko; Pequot Lakes; Crosby-Ironton; Kelliher; Red Lake; Sauk Center; Swanville; Grand Forks, North Dakota; Pillager; Devils Lake, North Dakota; Ashby; Mesabi East (Aurora); and Bemidji.
