The Boyacá Planning Secretariat, led by Jairo Neira Sánchez, participated in the I Boyacá Foreign Trade Congress: ‘Fundamentals, internationalization and Boyacá brand’, held at the Convention Center of the Chamber of Commerce of Tunja.
Tunja, November 5, 2025. (UACP). This academic meeting was promoted by the Secretary of Business Development of Boyacá, in alliance with universities in the department, with the purpose of generating a space for analysis and projection on the challenges and opportunities of foreign trade in the region.
During his intervention, Secretary Jairo Neira Sánchez guided the conference ‘Foreign trade and territorial development’, in which he presented an analysis of the current situation and dynamics of foreign trade in Colombia and Boyacá, highlighting its impact on the productivity, competitiveness and innovation of the territory.
The secretary also presented the diagnosis of the state of foreign trade, its implications in the generation of added value and the relevance of this sector as a catalyst for economic growth, job creation and improvement of per capita income in the department.
Likewise, he highlighted the need for Boyacá to continue advancing on a strategic path of internationalization, strengthening business capabilities, diversifying products and consolidating a solid territorial brand that projects the identity and potential of the department in national and international markets.
The meeting was attended by former ministers, managers, teachers and experts from the sector, where key topics were addressed such as: challenges of Colombian foreign trade, diversification of Boyacá trade, finance for export development, new geopolitics and sustainability, and productive and global Boyacá, among others.
With its participation, the Planning Secretariat reaffirms the departmental Government’s commitment to productivity, innovation and the strategic integration of the territory in the national and international context, strengthening the vision of a Boyacá that grows, projects and transforms.
