Boulazac Basket Dordogne (BBD) is set to commence its season with participation in the Super Cup, following a pre-season marked by both injuries and victories. The team will compete in the unique setting of the Philippe-Chatrier court at Roland-Garros. The Super Cup includes the champion of Pro B, the French champion (Paris), the vice-champion of France (Monaco), and the winner of the Leaders Cup (Le Mans).

In the first semi-final, BBD will face Monaco. Despite being considered the underdog, the team’s acquisition of Tony Snell, an American winger with 648 NBA matches under his belt, has generated significant buzz.

coach Alexandre Ménard sees the Super Cup as an opportunity for Boulazac to demonstrate its potential in the elite league. “This is how we built the team,” Ménard stated, emphasizing the selection of players eager to prove themselves. Snell echoed this sentiment, expressing “confidence” within the team and excitement to compete in the historic venue. “We might potentially be the Underdogs, but I like it,” Snell added.

For the first time since training resumed,the coaching staff will have access to 10 professional players for the match,allowing for more strategic coaching decisions. Ménard emphasized the importance of integrating new players like Jacob Grandison and continuing the adaptation of Théo Magrit. The goal is for BBD to “find connections, and disturb this Monaco team as best we can.”
