Wirther Schützenbruderschaft St. Wendelin Borkenwirthe Celebrates Shooting Festival

The annual shooting festival seeks successors for King Heiner Albers and Queen Anette Uphues.
BORKENWIRTHE. The Wirther Schützenbruderschaft “St. Wendelin” Borkenwirthe is preparing to celebrate its annual shooting festival next Thursday, May 29, and Friday, may 30. The community will be seeking successors for King Heiner Albers, who also serves as president of the association, and his queen, Anette Uphues.
In 2024, Albers achieved a long-awaited dream by attaining the royal dignity after an exciting competition with Phil Peters. Albers secured the title with the 204th shot, marking his second consecutive year in the throne community, as his wife Petra was Queen during the 2023/24 season.
The reigning majesties can anticipate the parademy and the festival ball on the first day of the shooting festival. Children’s games will also be available.Traditionally, the event continues with a trip to the bird bar, followed by the coronation ball on the second day.

Albers in 2024, who fulfilled a long -awaited dream with the royal dignity, had an exciting duel with competitor Phil Peters.
The shooting festival spans from Ascension day, May 29, to Friday, May 30, commencing with a festival service on Thursday at 9 a.m. Key events on the first day include the parademy at 5 p.m. and the festival ball from 7:30 p.m. Children’s activities begin at 5:30 p.m.
friday’s events start with the shooters gathering on the church square at 9:30 a.m., followed by the shooting at the “bird stick” (Vogelstange) at 11 a.m. The parademy with the new majesties is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., with the official introduction taking place at the coronation ball from 8 p.m.
