She is a regular in food supplements but is not the only one, “75 % of women consume it” advances Mathilde Bouchet, 37 years old. But from there to create a business on the subject, she didn’t think about it. A graduate of a business school in Clermont-Ferrand, she worked for ten years in textile purchases, at Etam and Lacoste.

Then there was a click: “A child, the Cavid, the departure of Paris and a spouse who goes to the trail”. If she had always wanted to undertake with an entrepreneurial dad, she also knew the flaws of such a journey. It was still necessary to be well surrounded and have the right idea.

Stand out

The idea, she drew it from her personal history. “I was born with a single kidney. So I have always been extremely vigilant to my hydration. But she also understands that beyond her personal case, “this is a real subject for all women. Dehydration causes headaches, repeated cystitis, digestive disorders and dries up the skin. It does not matter, but it spoils the daily life, “explains Mathilde Bouchet who is starting to think about a project around this problem in 2021 and resigned to create her business in October 2022. She trained in nutrition at Bichat hospital in Paris and surrounds herself with French experts, laboratories, pharmacists and doctors, to develop a hydration formula dedicated to women.

Target

It was after a year and a half of R&D, that she launched, in September 2024, the marketing of her rehydration sticks to dilute in the water, “without chemical taste or effervescent agents”, specifies Mathilde Bouchet who wanted to find a happy medium between chemical and drug solutions. The formula of good dose combines vitamins, “especially the B6 for the hormonal balance”, and electrolytes, namely the minerals that are potassium, magnesium, calcium, zinc and sodium. “The electrolytes allow the body to absorb water more quickly and effectively while contributing to muscle recovery, the reduction of fatigue and the fight against stress of cells,” explains Mathilde Bouchet who primarily targets sports, menopausal and active. “It is not a question of replacing the water, but of rebalanced when you do sports or that it does very hot and that you lose mineral salts. The whole thing is designed and manufactured in France in a Toulouse laboratory specializing in food supplements.

Accelerate

But she knows, time is counted before big actors seize the idea, as was the case with the solutions in the form of pastilles. “The subject is therefore to accelerate,” says Mathilde Bouchet who already has a version two of her product in mind as well as a new formula of which she keeps the secret while displaying her ambitions: “become the specialist in functional drinks for women”, beyond rehydration. “You have to have ahead of competitors and large laboratories. »»

Mathilde Bouchet is currently working on a fundraising for early 2026 and is looking for an associate. “If I had to do it again, I would not have started alone,” she admits. She would also have entered an incubator faster. Installed in the premises of Bordeaux Technowest in Bouscat since January 2025, it now deploys its snail strategy with, to start, a local distribution before expanding, even beyond France. In July, she was present in fifty points of sale, mainly in pharmacy. It aims at the CAP of 200 to the summer of 2026.

After choosing lemony, in 2024, a network of women entrepreneurs in Bordeaux, it was recently distinguished at the national level among the “101 women of Matignon”, a competition launched by the ministry responsible for equality between women and men to encourage women to embark on entrepreneurship.
