The project is currently in production and is being developed by Scared Stiff Films, with a planned release set for 2026.
According to details released by the production company, Halloween Candy 2 will expand significantly on the story introduced in the first film, which debuted earlier this year through Terror Films Releasing. That film is currently available on platforms including Tubi and Amazon Prime. Scared Stiff Films, founded in 2008, has built its reputation through more than 80 short horror films released on its ScaredStiffTV YouTube channel, all produced on limited budgets by a small, dedicated creative team with a strong passion for the genre.
The filmmakers confirmed that Halloween Candy 2 is expected to begin principal photography this summer. Unlike the first installment, which was independently financed by writer and director Douglas A. Plomitallo, the sequel aims to tell a larger, more ambitious story. The production team has stated that funding will be directed toward all major aspects of the film, including cast and crew costs, permits, insurance, equipment rentals, practical effects, wardrobe, locations, catering, transportation, and post-production audio work.
A key focus for the sequel will be practical effects, with the creative team aiming to increase the scares, thrills, and on-screen kills in a style inspired by classic horror films. The mysterious clown character Tiny, first introduced in a series of short films beginning in 2009 and later featured in the original Halloween Candy, will also return. The filmmakers have described Tiny as one of their most popular creations and believe the character has the potential to become a recognizable horror icon.
Wright’s casting adds a recognizable name to the project, particularly for wrestling fans. The Boogeyman remains an occasional in-ring competitor and continues to be active on the wrestling convention circuit, making appearances for fans around the world. His involvement in Halloween Candy 2 marks another crossover between professional wrestling and independent horror cinema, a trend that has grown steadily in recent years.
