The Union of Artists and Technicians in Entertainment Shows of the State of São Paulo (Sated-SP) stated this Monday that it sent union delegates to the set of the film “Dark Horse”, a film that aims to tell the story of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and which is scheduled to premiere in 2026. The association claims to have received complaints, on Friday, about poor working conditions for actors and extras.

“Sated-SP received reports of several worrying situations from both extras and actors. Union delegates responsible for supervision were at the recording site to speak with the team and film production, presenting the complaints received and requesting that the necessary measures be taken to ensure that the artists are treated in accordance with Sated’s regulations”, said the union.
GLOBO contacted federal deputy Mário Frias (PL-SP), who signed the film’s production and script, but received no response until the report was published. It will be updated in case of a response.
The film will adopt a heroic narrative and portray the former president as the “unlikely winner” of the elections. The plot will also include Bolsonaro’s military past and his actions against drug trafficking. Adélio will be portrayed under a fictitious name.
Dark Horse aims to reach an international audience by reconstructing the political trajectory of Bolsonaro, currently sentenced by the STF to 27 years and 3 months in prison for an attempted coup d’état and in pre-trial detention since November 22nd.
Leaked images from the filming of the feature film “Dark Horse” (“The underdog”, in free translation) show the American actor Jim Caviezel, who will play Bolsonaro, playing the episode of the stab wound suffered by the former president in 2018, in Juiz de Fora (MG), during the electoral race.
The cast bets on international names such as Lynn Collins (John Carter – Between Two Worlds) and Esai Morales (Mission: Impossible – The Final Score), as well as Brazilian Felipe Folgosi, who plays a federal police officer.
Director Cyrus Nowrasteh is 69 years old and is also known for religious-themed films such as “The Stoning of Soraya M.” (2008), “The Young Messiah” (2016) and “International Kidnapping” (2019).
