spreading pride and passion.
Two years ago, phillip Enari arrived in New Zealand on a study
scholarship.
By day,he’s a shy and humble student. But when night falls, he transforms
into a passionate Moana Pasifika superfan, also known as the “body paint
guy.”
“I had talked about it with a few of my family and friends about my idea,
they were like ‘yeah you should do it’ and it became a thing,” Enari
said.
Enari typically embodies ocean or water-based characters, a process that
takes about 30-40 minutes with the help of a cousin.
He expressed his enthusiasm for the Pacific Islands team and their
victories.
“It’s much more than a team it’s a movement for me, I feel a sense of
pride and happiness seeing that that team is a Pacific Islander team
really ignites a fire in me,” Enari said.
“It really motivates me and really makes me think that I can do whatever
I set my mind to… like the boys,” he added.
Moana Pasifika’s connection with its fans is strengthening bonds and
achieving milestones both on and off the field.
