For many years now, players have been clamoring for a remake of Bloodbornebut Sony seems stubborn in leaving the FromSoftware masterpiece relegated to its PS4 version dating back to 2015. New backgrounds are now emerging as to why, to date, Bloodborne Remake seems more and more like a dream that will never become reality.
Not long after the closure of Bluepoint Games, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier revealed that yes, the Texan studio had thought about making a remake of the action-RPG just like he had previously done with Demon’s Souls. Apparently, the idea was born in early 2025, and Sony had welcomed the proposal acknowledging that the numbers were “reasonable” to greenlight Bluepoint.
However, the Japanese giant had to put the brakes on to the operation since the original author of the game, Hidetaka Miyazaki, he said he was against it to a remake that wasn’t handled internally. According to Shuhei Yoshida, former PlayStation executive, Miyazaki would be interested in making a remake of Bloodborne but is currently too busy to do it. At the same time, “he doesn’t want anyone else to touch him“and from here we find ourselves in the stalemate situation that has been going on for some time. Yoshida thinks that PlayStation will respect Miyazaki’s wishes and will not publish any remake of the game made by external studios, even though Sony owns the rights to the IP.
Hidetaka Miyazaki is today the father of numerous titles that have left an indelible mark on the gaming landscape, but it is precisely in Bloodborne that he identifies the most special game he has ever created.
