Due to enemy shelling, there are no power in several areas. The difficult situation in the energy system has led to emergency power outages (schedules for consumers do not apply) in Kyiv, as well as in the following areas:
- Kievskaya,
- Kharkovskaya,
- Sumskoy,
- Poltava,
- Zaporozhye,
- Kirovogradskaya,
- Dnepropetrovsk,
- Zhytomyr,
- parts of Khmelnitsky and Cherkassy.
The reason for introducing restrictions is the consequences of previous Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, Ukrenergo explains.
Whose lights are turned off according to schedules
Now the only area where lights are turned off to consumers according to planned schedules is Chernihiv region.
Chernigovoblenergo has published a schedule of hourly outages (HSW) for October 16.
“If the situation in the energy system changes, the schedule will be adjusted,” the oblenergo warned.

Meanwhile, electricity consumption in the country remains consistently high.
“As of 7:30, it was at the same level as at the same time of the previous day – on Wednesday. The reason is the content of cloudy and cold weather in most regions of Ukraine,” explains Ukrenergo.
In addition, yesterday, October 15, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the morning. It was the same as the previous day’s high – Tuesday the 14th.
Also, from 16:00 until the end of the day in all regions of Ukraine, there is a likely introduction of power limitation schedules (volume of two queues). But this applies to industry, not household consumers.
At the same time, the need for economical energy consumption remains throughout the day. Therefore, Ukrainians are urged: do not turn on several powerful electrical appliances at the same time today.
Energy attacks
Let us recall that this night Russian troops launched another combined strike on the energy sector, using 320 drones and 37 missiles, most of which were ballistics.
The infrastructure of Vinnitsa, Sumy, Poltava, Chernigov, and Kharkov regions was under attack.
In particular, due to the Russian strike on the Nezhinsky district of the Chernigov region, 607 consumers were without power.
As the President of Ukraine noted, this fall the Russians are using every day to attack the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
Moreover, the enemy is also attacking Ukraine’s gas production. In this connection, Ukrainians are urged to save not only electricity, but also gas.
