Black Flag & GTA Meme: Viral Moment Explained

Ubisoft has finally acknowledged the constant stream of leaks about the re-release of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag after another leak,

On its official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account /

The appearance of the statue online came after a hint from Pure Arts last year that it was working on something related to Black Flag and it would appear in the near future, without revealing details, stating that the release is scheduled for 2026. Close-up images showed the base of the statue that included the Ubisoft and Pure Arts logos with a copyright mark registered for the year 2026.

With this leak appearing alongside everything previously leaked about the game, it was not surprising that Ubisoft stopped pretending that nothing existed, and although the response was humorous, it represents the first time that Ubisoft has officially commented on anything related to the re-release of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, despite a long series of leaks and rumors about its existence.

Perhaps the most notable confirmation of the project came from Edward Kenway‘s voice actor, who initially hinted at the project before being pointedly told by Ubisoft to stop talking. Finally, last month, the game appeared on the European PEGI rating site to reveal what appears to be the final title: Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

Officially, Ubisoft has only hinted at the game’s upcoming release by acknowledging that it has an unannounced game scheduled for release before the end of the current fiscal year on March 31. However, the game has been postponed to the next fiscal year (ending March 31, 2027) due to a major restructuring of teams, projects, and studios within the company.
