The Punjabi film industry is mourning the loss of Jaswinder Bhalla, a veteran comedian and actor. The ‘Carry On Jatta’ star passed away on the morning of august 22nd, reportedly after a period of illness.

The funeral will be held on August 23 at 12 noon at the Balongi cremation ground in Mohali,with a large number of fans and artists expected to gather to pay their last respects.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed his condolences on X, stating, “the sudden departure of Jaswinder Bhalla Ji from this world is extremely sorrowful.. The heart is saddened by the silence of the jingle of Chhankatian… May Waheguru grant him a place at His feet Chacha Chatra will always reside in our hearts (sic).”

In this fast-paced life, Punjabis will always remember Bhalla Ji, who brought smiles to people’s faces. May Guru Sahib grant the departed soul a place at His divine feet and give strength to the family and his millions of fans to accept this divine will (sic).”
