A night filled with music, celebration, and heartfelt tributes marked the 2025 Grammy Awards. Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar emerged as the major winners, even as the event acknowledged and honored victims of the California wildfires.
Beyoncé Claims Top Honors, Making History
Beyoncé took home the highly coveted Album of the Year award for her album “Cowboy Carter,” becoming the fourth Black woman to receive this recognition. The award was specially presented by members of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, celebrating first responders and those affected by the recent wildfires.
“It’s been many many years,” Beyoncé declared to thunderous applause, dedicating her achievement to historical significance.
Additionally, Beyoncé won Best Country Album and Best Country Duo Performance with Miley Cyrus, making history as the first Black woman to win a Country Grammy in 50 years.
