Best Xbox Cover Art – Top 10 Picks | Gamereactor

Xbox may not have been the starting point of my gaming career, but it was definitely the key to really getting gaming off the ground. It’s been 24 years since the Xbox was released in Europe, but I remember that moment almost like it happened yesterday. As a twelve-year-old boy, receiving an Xbox for Christmas was an almost ecstatic experience. If you imagine a “Nintendo kid” but looking messier and more low-key, that’s who I was 24 years ago. I didn’t ask for Xbox. I don’t even know what an Xbox is – but I’m very happy. Thank you, Mom and Dad!

Well, I just asked Patrik to list my favorite covers. Keep in mind – these are very (read: extremely) subjective opinions, and you’ll likely disagree. But that’s okay, because then you can share your own favorites in the comments section. Enough said ——Let’s get started:

10. Area 51

I have fond memories of Area-51. Most of the questions actually revolve around the cover itself. I remember buying it from the sale section and being immediately attracted by the understated and mysterious packaging. It’s hard for me to recall specific memories of the game itself because I thought it was so horrible – so for me, occasionally looking at the picture of the front of the Xbox case is enough.

9. Star Wars: Republic Commando

That’s right – the fun facts about the game itself here are similar to those in the previous game, but not because it’s scary or I’m too timid to play it. This time, it was too difficult. I don’t have much patience now, but it was much worse when I was a teenager. However, my love for this cover has not changed; it was, and still is, one of my favorites.

8. XIII

Back then, when the Xbox was in frequent rotation, gaming magazines were also a natural part of daily life. I remember what I had to say about XIII “Comic style graphics” Drooling, this game is a must-have for me. Once it was in, I barely played it – but the cover is still going strong after 23 years.

7. Fast Thrill: Underworld 2

My friends and I played a lot of Need for Speed: Underground – both the first and second generations. For a while, almost the entire team wanted to modify the cars we grew up with, and of course that would be as cool as a Metro game. There are neon lights under the car, rotate rims and a weird tail kit with matching wings. The game cover captures that feeling perfectly, timeless and well designed.

6. Jet Set broadcasts the future

I’ve never played Jet Set Radio on the Dreamcast. As far as I know, I’ve only watched the Dreamcast “Practical Operation” Once – but that’s not the point. I borrowed this game from a friend and was completely blown away. It’s one of my favorite titles on Xbox, so of course the cover has a special place in my heart. The reason why it ranks so high in my mind, though, isn’t just out of nostalgia, but because it’s actually very catchy.

5. The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay

I bought Riddick purely because Gamereactor praised it so much when it came out. This was supposed to be a great game and of course I had to play it for myself. I was disappointed when I discovered that stealth is a cornerstone of the game, especially when I discovered that I was the worst at stealth in the game. However, this cover is still very cool today and hints at a time when people really respected Vin Diesel.

4. The Simpsons: Hit and Run

I played that somewhat terrible game The Simpsons: Wrestling on the PlayStation a bunch of times a few years ago. I was too young to realize that it was pure garbage, so I was really looking forward to a new Simpsons game. Fortunately, the GTA clone “Hit and Run” was very popular. The cover is almost flawless, with a perfect blend of playfulness, chaos and timbre, and the piano plays smoothly in the hands of a skilled pianist.

3. “Halo: Combat Evolved”

Okay – Halo is actually in third place for nostalgia reasons. This was the first game I played on a console and it was a real eye-opener. I didn’t know video games could be so fun. It was a unique experience and one I am so grateful to have had. The picture on the front of the box reminds me of that – and it makes me happy. So it should go here, right? Even without a strong sense of nostalgia, this cover is actually very successful.

2. FIFA Street

OK, no problem. I know I’m cheating a bit by putting NTSC covers in the list. But this is my list and there’s nothing you can do about it. Now that all is said and done, I’d like to say that I’m envious of those players who have this awesome cover instead of the more boring PAL version. Ronaldinho was a household name at the time and FIFA Street was extremely entertaining. But wow, what a great design choice.

1. Allegory

here is mine「Best of All」and why it earns the very honorable number one spot on this list. First, I want to thank the person who made this possible. Thank you, Peter Molyneux, and thank you for creating a game series that I truly love and that is still relevant to my life. Thank you also, Jo Chen. Without your amazing talent and skill, this cover would never have become the blockbuster hit it is today. You did a perfect job, and it’s because of you that Fable reached number one and became the first person on this list“Masterpiece”.
