It was the greatest phenomenon on television, a production that defined the way of making series. It coincided with the rise of the Internet, which made it the most viral product of the time, and TikTok did not yet exist. The premise, the characters and the mysteries fed the viewerswho developed all kinds of theories. And ‘Lost‘ was unique, despite the controversy at the end. The most curious thing is that 20 years after the premiere, there is still no type of spin-off.
Neither sequel nor prequel, nor reboot. Throughout these years there have been rumors of the possibility that someone was working on new ‘Lost’ series, but nothing has materialized. However, actor Ken Leung, who played Miles Straume in ‘Lost’, revealed in an interview with The Independent that there was a project in the works.
The canceled spin-off of Miles and Sawyer
According to Ken Leung, the idea of making a spin-off starring Miles and Sawyer was raised. The tone was going to be similar to that of ‘True Detective’ and Both were going to be partners in the Los Angeles Police Department. According to the actor, it would have been something with its own essence and not a continuation of ‘Lost’ as such.
Damon Lindelof, co-creator of the series along with JJ Abrams, has said that he will not return to ‘Lost’, but he is convinced that the series will return: “I think there will be more ‘Lost’, but it doesn’t seem to me that it will come from us. I think there will be some other creative team involved who will put their own spin on it, which is exciting.”
