Chennai: Tamil Nadu State Film Awards announced. The awards were announced for films from 2016 to 2022.

The best films are Managaram (2016), Aram (2017), Pariyerum Perumal (2018), Asuran (2019), Koozhangal (2020), Jaibheem (2021), Karki (2022). The best actors are Vijay Sethupathi, Karthi, Dhanush, Parthipan, Suriya, Arya and Vikram Prabhu.
Most of the award-winning actresses are Malayalis. Keerthy Suresh, Nayanthara, Jyothika, Manju Warrier, Aparna Balamurali, Lijo Mol Jose and Sai Pallavi won the best actress award.
Lokesh Kanakaraj, Pushkar Gayatri, Mari Selvaraj, Parthipan, Sudha Konkara, T.S. Best directors are Gnanavel and Gautham Ramachandran. Madhumitha, Urvashi, Devadarshini, Kovai Sarala and Indraja Shankar won the Best Comedy Actress award.
The prize money is Rs 2 lakh for the best film and Rs 1 lakh for the second film. The best actors will be awarded a gold medal worth one rupee each. 1.25 lakhs will also be given to the best film aimed at women empowerment.
Deputy Chief Minister Udayanidhi Stalin will present the awards at a function to be held at the Kalaivanar Arang in Chennai on February 13.
