Corona in Berlin: 7-day incidence of 6.7

Corona remains one of the most common respiratory diseases. The Infection is caused by SARS-CoV-2 and can lead to fever, cough and difficulty breathing. In the last week there was 251 new corona cases in Berlin. At 37, the highest 7-day corona incidence is found in the age group over 80. Across all age groups, the Corona 7-day incidence in Berlin is currently 6.7 per 100,000 inhabitants (as of November 16, 2025). Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,473,562 laboratory-confirmed corona cases have been reported in Berlin.

Flu in Berlin: 51 new influenza cases
The “real” flu (influenza) is caused by the influenza virus and is often associated with a sudden onset of illness, high fever and body aches. In week 45, 51 new flu cases were registered in Berlin. This corresponds to a flu incidence of 1.38.

Acute respiratory diseases and flu-like illnesses in eastern Germany
In addition to the spread of the “real” flu (influenza), the development of regional case numbers for acute respiratory diseases and flu-like illnesses is also being closely monitored. According to the, acute respiratory diseases (ARE for short, for acute respiratory illness) include Definition of the Robert Koch Institute any new respiratory illnesses with cough, sore throat or Fever. A flu-like illness (ILI for short) is a specific form of ARE in which – in addition to a cough or sore throat – fever always occurs.

The estimated weekly incidence of acute respiratory diseases in the Greater East Region, which includes Berlin, is 5,400 per 100,000 inhabitants in the 45th calendar week. It has fallen compared to the previous week (previous week: 6,600) and is below the national average of 6,000. An incidence of 700 per 100,000 inhabitants is currently estimated for flu-like illnesses. This value has decreased compared to the previous week (previous week: 900). The respiratory syncytialVirus (RSV) is a worldwide pathogen that causes respiratory diseases and can occur at any age. Severe courses of the disease occur primarily in infants, small children and older people. There were no new RSV cases in Berlin in the 46th calendar week. The RSV incidence here is currently 0 laboratory-confirmed RSV cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
The highest RSV incidence of the current year was reached in Berlin in calendar week 09/2025, when 231 new RSV cases were registered within one week. This corresponds to an RSV incidence of 6.15 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
