Quebecer Bennedict Mathurin was traded from the Indiana Pacers to the Los Angeles Clippers, according to an Associated Press source.
Indiana traded Mathurin, center Isaiah Jackson and two draft picks for center Ivica Zubac, a source familiar with the matter said Thursday.
This person requested anonymity as the exchange is not yet official.
Los Angeles also receives a protected first-round pick from Indiana, as well as a 2029 first-round pick.
This year’s pick is protected if the Pacers decide in the top 4 or between ranks 10-30.
Mathurin was on his way to free agency over the summer, and it was unclear whether the Pacers could afford to retain his services.
The sixth overall pick in 2022, the Montrealer was returning from toe and thumb injuries, which kept him sidelined for most of January.
This season, he was second on the Pacers with 17.8 points per game.
In the final against OKC last year, Mathurin was the top scorer for both clubs in Game 3, amassing 27 points.
In Zubac, the Pacers get the pivot they have been missing since the departure of Myles Turner last summer.
The Croatian averaged 14.4 points this season, while being fifth in the league with 11 rebounds per game.
