Griffin Holds Off Schmid for the Win

The tension peaked on the 72nd hole when Matti Schmid birdied after a remarkable chip shot from deep rough, forcing Ben Griffin to sink a critical 4-foot par putt to secure his victory.Griffin managed to save par from the rough, showcasing composure under pressure.

“First of all,it was like whack-a-mole hitting that third shot,” Griffin said. “In my head, I was thinking Matti might probably make that. Fortunately, I had that 4-footer. I felt pretty good over it.Just left edge and trust it.”
