“It’s very, very special to win here again,” Belinda Bencic said at the WTA microphone. In the final of the Olympics, “I negotiated the match point on the same side, and I tried the same serve today”, she recalled. Her first season after motherhood was therefore a total success. “Honestly, I couldn’t have expected such a comeback,” assured the St. Galloise. “With 2 titles, I am really very satisfied with my season,” she rejoiced. “In tennis, you always want more.
