Last Wednesday afternoon,André,a 77-year-old Belgian tourist,collapsed at a private residence in Cogolin,in the Var department. according to initial reports, the man was involved in a heated argument with four teenagers, aged 12 to 14, who were allegedly swimming without permission in the residence’s pool.

Witnesses claim that there was no physical contact between the man adn the teenagers. However,the verbal confrontation was reportedly very intense,which may have triggered a fatal episode.

Investigation Ongoing

At this point, investigators are exploring all possibilities, though a confluence of unfortunate events appears to be the leading theory. An autopsy will be performed on André’s body to determine the precise cause of death.

“Extreme Violence”

Philippe, a close friend of the deceased, expressed his grief over the loss of André and the nature of the confrontation. he recounted alleged threats made by the teenagers against André and his family.

Philippe urged for greater awareness, stating that words can be as damaging as physical violence. He hopes that action will be taken to honor André’s memory and to help the teenagers involved.
