Pavaratti : The curtain has risen on the rural film festival organized by Valakattupadam Devasurya Kalavedi and Pavaratti Janaki Film Vedi.
Director PT Kunju Muhammad inaugurated. Elavalli Panchayat President Jio Fox presided. The fair started with a screening of the documentary ‘Pavarotti’s Historical Paths’. The short films Duthan, Nerchapetti, Upanath and Wonderman were shown and the main film Pada was shown.
Many people came to enjoy the film by drinking chukkapi and eating kapalandi at Pazama’s padam, specially set up in the lampfield. Lyricist Chandran Peruvallur and actor Sailu Chappie were honored at the event.
Rafi Neelankavil, Sridevi Davis, M. Nalin Babu, Subramanian Iripassery, KC Abhilash,
Reggie Valakatupadam, Jason Guruvayur and Jason Araikal spoke. The fair will conclude with the distribution of the John Abraham prizes on Sunday.
