Batourino (in Russian: Baturino) is a village in the Nesterovo rural settlement in the Baikalian Raion, Buryatia, Russia. Its population was 49 inhabitants at the 2021 census.

The village of Baturino is located in Buryatia, a republic of Russia located in Transbaikalia, a region of eastern Siberia east of Lake Baikal. It is part of the Far Eastern Federal District. Locality of the Baikalian district, a district of the republic, it is located in the rural settlement of Nesterovo, a municipality of the district with Nesterovo as its capital[[1],[[2]. Batourino lies in the valley of the Itantsa River, a sub-tributary of Baikal[[3].

The time zone of the village is MSK+5 (Irkutsk time). The time difference applied to Coordinated Universal Time is +08:00[[4].

The name of the village probably comes from a family, the Batourines, who appear in the families living there in the XIXe century[[5].

The village is first mentioned in a description of the Intantsa fort and its valley in Gerhard Friedrich Müller’s Great Northern Expedition of 1733-1746. Batourino then belongs to the ostrog of Itantsa[[6].

A wooden church dedicated to the Presentation of the Lord was built in 1777. In 1791, the parish of Batourino had 12 hamlets and 148 households. The village was integrated into the volost of Itantsa in 1800[[5].

Between 1833 and 1836 lived in Baturino Ivan Fyodorovich Chimkov, a decabrist, who died in the village[[7].

At the beginning of XXe century, the village was prosperous, with a post office, a rest stop, inns and stores. Several families of Jewish merchants also lived there, but left the region in 1919[[8].
