Bataan province Enhances Cancer Care with Swedish Partnership

Bataan is set to improve it’s cancer care services through a new partnership with Sweden. Bataan Gov. Joet Garcia recently hosted Anna Ferry, the Swedish ambassador to the Philippines, along with a group of Swedish business leaders, to discuss collaborative opportunities in healthcare.
The primary goal is to leverage modern technology for early cancer detection and treatment. Discussions also covered the implementation of mobile diagnostic services and training initiatives for healthcare professionals at the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center and the BGHMC Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services (BUCAS) center in Pilar.
Mobile Diagnostic Units to Reach Remote Communities
A key component of the plan involves deploying mobile diagnostic units equipped with mammography and X-ray capabilities.Gov. Garcia emphasized the importance of bringing these services directly to communities, reducing the burden on patients who frequently enough face long journeys for initial screenings and follow-up care.
