Banyan Group Celebrates 30th Year with Ambitious 2025 Expansion Plans
Banyan Group, an independent, global hospitality company known for its luxurious resorts and hotels, is marking its 30th year with significant progress and exciting plans for the future. The company, listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX: B58) as Banyan Tree Holdings Limited, reflects on three decades of growth and announces a dynamic pipeline for 2025. This year, the Group is set to welcome its 100th resort in Singapore and expand into new territories, including Tanzania and the Dominican Republic.

Brand Evolution Continues with New Frontiers in 2025
The upcoming year is poised to bring extensive growth to Banyan Group’s portfolio, with 15 new hotel and resort openings and five new branded residence developments. These expansions will showcase the Group’s commitment to innovation and brand evolution, offering guests a unique and layered experience. Here are some of the highlights:
Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree
This 338-room resort, Banyan Group’s first in Singapore, is nestled within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, Singapore’s premier integrated wildlife and nature destination. Every aspect of the resort is designed to harmonize with the surrounding environment, from architecture to interiors, offering a nature-inspired stay.
Ubuyu, a Banyan Tree Escape
In Tanzania, the Group is launching Ubuyu, its first safari resort, located in the untouched wilderness of Ruaha National Park. This resort provides an immersive experience, bringing guests close to the local community, culture, and wildlife, emphasizing a deep connection with nature and sustainability.
Banyan Group’s First Standalone Urban Offering
For the first time, Banyan Group is entering the urban market with a boutique development in Bangkok. This dynamic space combines accommodations, spa, dining, a membership club, and a nightclub, providing guests with a rich and evolving experience within a single destination.
Expansion in Asia
The Group’s multi-brand strategy across Asia continues, with new openings in Zhuhai Phoenix Bay in China, Haeundae Busan and Cassia Saekdal Jeju in South Korea, Cassia Ram-Intra Bangkok in Thailand, and Homm Mandaue City Cebu in the Philippines.
First Resort in the Dominican Republic
In 2025, Banyan Group will break into the Caribbean with the opening of Cassia Punta Cana, its first resort in the Dominican Republic.
Increasing Retail Footprint
Guests will also soon have access to Banyan Tree Gallery products on board Emirates and EVA Air, expanding the Group’s retail offerings to a global audience.
Sustainability and Wellbeing at the Heart of Expansion
Banyan Group’s founding ethos of ‘Embracing the Environment, Empowering People’ will continue to shape its sustainability and wellbeing initiatives:
- Marine conservation efforts will include the Coral Reef Restoration Project on Hainan Island in partnership with the China Environmental Projection Foundation and the introduction of a new coral larval restoration method in the Maldives.
- The Rewilding Banyan Fund will support rewilding efforts, expanding to include a bee-friendly forest on Bintan Island, Indonesia.
- The Group’s 8 Pillars of Wellbeing will be integrated more deeply into the guest experience through retreats, visiting practitioner programs, and new developments in spa brands in 2025.
Landmark Year in 2024
Looking back at 2024, Banyan Group significantly expanded its portfolio and celebrated its 30th anniversary with a variety of initiatives:
- The year saw 18 new hotel and resort openings, with six in Japan and South Korea, and eight in China.
- Six new branded residence developments were unveiled, including the first-ever Garrya Residences and projects in the nature-integrated Laguna Lakelands.
- Eleven new galleries and 12 new spa openings were launched, focusing on wellbeing and personal growth.
- The Group intensified its sustainability efforts with the launch of the Rewilding Banyan Fund, its leadership in marine conservation through Our Marine Lab at Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, and funding for the Greater Good Grants initiative.
- Commemorative anniversary initiatives included a brand evolution and name shift to Banyan Group, the launch of an experiential members program, and the publication of a special edition anniversary book.
