PRAGUE – The combination of adverse experiences that we read about every day and also the maturity of information technology confused an elderly Czech woman to whom the bank announced a fabulous win. Assuming that it was another scam, she canceled them in the presence of mind, but she had no idea that it was a real win. Everything turned out for the best in the end and it makes for a fun story.
The Czech portal TN.cz reported on the unusual and sometimes even funny case. At the end of the year, Czech bank employees tried to contact the winner of their unusual event. It was a financial win. The positive side of the whole story is the fact that despite the initial suspicion, the woman accepted the win with joy in the end, and the world has a happy ending. It was a million Czech crowns, which translates to about 41,172 euros.

Bank employees drew the third winner of their Million Account campaign. This one million crowns was even credited to the account of the lady in question. However, the announcement of her success in this event turned out differently than the bank and its employees had imagined. Air Bank talked about the whole incident with a smile in a status on the social network.

“When we called, we were not completely successful. On the contrary, we were sent to the appropriate places, because this information is not always believable.” wrote Air Bank staff in a post. The winner had to be convinced by the news for a few more days, which probably made her even more nervous. Apparently, she was convinced only by looking at the amount of funds in the bank account. However, she did not look there until a week later.

The bank reminded that the winner of the promotion is decided by random drawing. According to her, the woman in question first had to check the status of her account in internet banking. “She went to look at the application only after a week. She definitely did not expect the amount she found there,” the bank wrote. The lady checked everything over the phone. “Besides, we heard that we were darlings, and were moved by the incredible joy in the voice of the lady,” they added in conclusion.
