Bangladesh Bus Crash: 24 Bodies Recovered From River

Fatal accidents are relatively common in the South Asian country due to poor road conditions, poor vehicle maintenance and dangerous driving.

During the Eid holiday this year, more than 200 people lost their lives according to the Bangladesh Road Safety Foundation.

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the actual number of road deaths in Bangladesh stood at more than 31,500 in 2023, or more than 85 deaths per day in this country of 170 million people.
