Balochistan Increases Surplus Budget to Rs51.5 billion Through Austerity Measures

The Balochistan government has revised it’s annual budget for the financial year 2025-26, identifying additional funds through austerity measures across various departments. This has increased its surplus budget to Rs51.5 billion, according to presentations in the balochistan Assembly.
Provincial finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani announced this during a post-budget press conference alongside Senior Minister for Planning and Development Mir Zahoor Buledi on Wednesday.
Also present were Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Hafiz Basit, Finance Secretary Imran Zarkoon, and Spokesman for Balochistan Government Shahid Rind.
The finance minister initially announced a Rs36 billion surplus in his budget speech, accounting for both development and non-development expenditures. Though, he clarified that the surplus is now Rs51.5bn after a review of budget allocations.
Minister says PSDP enhanced, while non-development expenditures reduced
when questioned about the allocation for law and order, he stated that Rs81bn has been earmarked for improving law and order.He added that the government is taking all necessary steps to maintain law and order in the province and provide maximum facilities to the security forces.
