Local government Boosts Support for Dengue Prevention Programs
Denpasar, Bali – In a concerted effort to combat the persistent threat of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), the Denpasar City government is reinforcing its commitment to community-based prevention strategies.Mayor I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara recently lauded the tireless work of local larvae monitors (Jumantik) and fogging teams, emphasizing their crucial role in curbing the spread of this mosquito-borne illness.
During a DHF evaluation meeting held on Thursday,March 27th,Mayor Jaya Negara highlighted the importance of continued vigilance and innovation in the city’s dengue control programs. The meeting, attended by Deputy Mayor I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa and Head of the Denpasar City Health Office Dr. Aa ayu Agung Chandrawati, served as a platform to assess current strategies and plan for future initiatives.
Recognizing Frontline Workers: appreciation for jumantik and Fogging Teams
The Denpasar City Health Office demonstrated its appreciation by distributing 442 care packages to Jumantik workers,coordinators,and fogging personnel,coinciding with Denpasar City’s Birthday and the upcoming Nyepi Day. Dr. Chandrawati emphasized that this gesture acknowledges their invaluable contribution to DHF prevention and control within the city.
This is a form of appreciation from the Denpasar City Government for the participation of jumantik officers, jumantik coordinators and foging officers in efforts to prevent and control DHF in Denpasar City.

- Targeted fogging operations in high-risk areas.
- Mass fogging initiatives.
- PSN bluff activities (simulations) to enhance preparedness.
Dr. chandrawati expressed optimism that these thorough measures will effectively reduce the incidence of DHF in Denpasar city.
