Bags and sandals at Nei-s in Bad Nauheim

2024-05-06 08:01:05

A business like this does not exist again in the Rhine-Main area or beyond. There are several reasons for this. Neida Samira Ruiz Fernandez designs almost all of the pieces in her Nei-s shop herself. In addition, the pieces only consist of natural raw materials such as wool, fique palm, leather and silk. The designer, who comes from Colombia, has the goods manufactured in her country of origin – and only by women from the indigenous Zenú and Wayuu peoples. She only makes the crochet sandals (69 euros) herself. And they are almost exclusively unique pieces: no anchor bag, no belt, no sandal, no mochila, a kind of backpack, is the same as the other piece. It couldn’t be more unique.

The store at Stresemannstrasse 7 in Bad Nauheim has been selling since mid-April. The word has gotten around: customers come from all over the region. The name Nei-s is a play on words, means “beautiful” in English and refers to the owner’s first name.

What also makes the business special is that it is the first pop-up shop in the spa town, launched by the city. Before moving in, the store was empty for two years.

An untimely shooting is considered impossible, according to the prosecutor

“A shot carried out by a third party is not compatible with the findings”said Mont-de-Marsan prosecutor Olivier Janson on Thursday, April 25, during a press conference, regarding the shooting that injured singer Kendji Girac on Monday. The latter told investigators that he wanted “faking suicide” to scare his partner who threatened to leave him after an argument. “He was very scared when he heard her talking about leaving, he had a moment of panic and wanted to scare her in turn”added the magistrate.

Analyzes confirmed that Kendji Girac was heavily alcoholic, at more than 2.5 grams per liter of blood, and that he had consumed cocaine in the hours preceding the tragedy. “Tensions arose due to an emerging addiction to alcohol, a subject which generated great tension in the couple”explained Mr. Janson.

Furthermore, the winner of the show “The Voice” 2014 “had said in the past that he would shoot himself or cut his throat in arguments”according to comments from his partner reported by the prosecutor.
