Baghpat. Lawyers in the Collectorate premises in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday in the University Grants Commission (UGC) case.

Exhibited. While handing over the memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister to the District Magistrate, the demand for withdrawal of the UGC Bill has been raised.

The lawyers wrote in the memorandum that they always work for harmony, amity, public interest and national interest in the society. There is anger among various sections of the society including educationists and intellectuals, doctors and citizens regarding the provisions of the Promotion of Equality in Higher Education Institutions Regulations 2026. Due to this, enmity will spread among the society and students of different sections and they will become against each other. Due to which students’ attention will be diverted from studies and a conflict situation will arise. The student who can make his best contribution to the progress of the nation through his education, knowledge and research will be questioned. Because the student will remain entangled in the provisions of the said Act, which will not be beneficial for our nation.

He has requested the Prime Minister that keeping in view the seriousness of this issue, the UGC Act (Promotion of Equality in Higher Education Institutions) Regulations 2026 should be abolished due to nationwide protests. So that a positive message is sent to the society and classes and mutual trust and unity of all classes is maintained. With the withdrawal of the law, there will be better development in the progress and development of the nation. On this occasion, advocate Harsh Bhardwaj along with other advocates were present.
