Round 17 of the Formula 1 season heads to the Baku City Circuit for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix from 19-21 September.

Lando Norris crashed his McLaren as Lewis Hamilton led Charles Leclerc to a Ferrari one-two in Friday practice in Baku.

Briton Norris lost control at Turn Four, breaking his rear suspension, and ended the second hour 10th on the timesheets.

McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri, who leads Norris by 31 points in the title race, was 12th.

Sunday’s 51-lap grand prix starts at 12:00 BST.

What is the Baku weather forecast?

The weather forecast for this weekend’s race in Baku could be a mixture of sunshine and light rain, with gusty winds also predicted during qualifying.

After dry running on Friday, Saturday’s third practice and the fight for pole position, plus Sunday’s grand prix, could see rain in the morning before conditions clear up.

How can McLaren win constructors’ title in Baku?

McLaren are on their way to winning back-to-back constructors’ championships and could mathematically seal the title as early as Sunday’s race in Azerbaijan.

To be crowned champions for a 10th time – and with seven races still to go – McLaren need to outscore second-placed Ferrari by nine points in Baku, while not being outscored by Mercedes by 12 points or more, and Red Bull by 33 points or more.

Constructors' championship standings:

1. McLaren - 617

2. Ferrari - 280

3. Mercedes - 260

4. Red Bull - 239

5. Williams - 86

6. Aston Martin - 62

7. Racing Bulls - 61

8. Sauber - 55

9. Haas - 44

10. Alpine - 20Image source, BBC Sport
