Azahriah at Forbes: Full House Event Recap & Insights

by Archynetys Entertainment Desk

Thursday’s Forbes Under 30 Summit was full of stars, and our packed event was closed by Azahriah, who filled Puskás three times. Gergő Zsiborás, the editor-in-chief of Forbes, talked to him about how he deals with his dopamine addiction and whether he can still go to the store for Parisizer.

After the premiere of the March cover and the 30/30 list, the most successful Hungarian performer of our time, Attila Baukó, also known as Azahriah, took to the stage in his usual sunglasses and black cap set. He rarely takes on roles, but he felt that the topic was close to him, so he expressed his opinion about online bubbles, his own presence, but his future plans were also discussed.

You would think that the stage is the most important platform for a singer, but Azahriah attributes such a big role to social media. “I socialized in this,” he said with a smile, referring to the beginnings, when he only posted videos on YouTube on a wide variety of topics. He also started uploading his music there, which is why he considers it the most important platform of his career, but also a critical space.

A follower base of hundreds of thousands also comes with responsibility, the question is how you can manage it. “It was in my career as a content producer that I struggled with how to handle this responsibly, but I’m still looking for that way.” According to Azahriah, it is a difficult question, where is the line that can no longer be crossed, because social media means a huge freedom, where you can put anything practically without external control, but you have to reckon with the consequences, since every post has an echo.

Despite this, according to him, the most authentic performer follows his own path and does not just want to meet expectations, as this is exactly what led him to where he is now. He admits that there are stronger and weaker periods, but he thinks that as long as he has the audience’s attention, it is important to show as much of himself as possible.

After Puskás, there was a lot of excitement

He is 24 years old, but he has already passed a triple Puskás – we wrote the background of the sold-out concerts and the history of his management, Supermanagement, in the cover story of the June 2024 Forbes magazine.

The amazing performance was also discussed at Thursday’s event – he considers it the biggest success of his life so far. Although he considers it at least as outstanding an experience that he connects generations with his music.

“It was, for example introverted song, which started with the fact that the audience, who until now had only brought their children to the concert, also fell in love with my music. There were comments about who is listening at what age. I am proud of this and it is a good result”.

Returning to Puskas, behind-the-scenes secrets were also discussed, for example, how it felt to step out on stage. Part of his thoughts were occupied with getting all the technical details in order, and the ear monitor especially bothered him, because if he stayed inside, he excluded the noise of the audience. “This was a big minus at Puskás” – the technical focus somewhat took away the possibility of simply enjoying the moment, but after the third concert, catharsis arrived.

He often thinks about where to go from here in this small country. “You have to look at how to proceed broken down into months, weeks or even days, you have to get lost in these plans, because if I think about the big picture, I never have enough time,” he said about his strategy. His goal is not necessarily to give a bigger concert than Puskás, but the idea of a more special production already excites his imagination.

“If you see on Sunday night that the Parisizer is sold out at home, can’t you just run to the store?” – asked Gergő Zsiborás about fame. The singer jokingly said: he would fly, but he is separated from that by a driver’s license, which is on his to-do list anyway.

“After Puskás, I felt that there was a lot of pressure, I didn’t know how to deal with it, but I already have very good experiences. If I meet someone who recognizes or acknowledges me, the interaction between people is more relaxed now, which I really like.”

While he used to talk to his followers in Instagram stories, nowadays he prefers this role to music: he tries to achieve a social experience with the songs and to lure interested people to one place.

Dopamine addiction and laziness

Azahriah also spoke openly about how her dopamine addiction to short video platforms is a real problem, she gets lost in them easily and doesn’t have enough time for anything else. On whether you have a coping strategy:

“In my case, it was about having an inner voice that hates you for doing this, for spinning it that way.”

According to him, he can break out of this by making music and studying, since then he has to focus, but silence can also help. However, it is not easy to overcome laziness.

He cares about money, because it makes solving problems easier and takes the burden of hopelessness away. “It certainly has a tendency to change me too, anyone who sees it from the outside has to say that. But laziness is definitely inherent – that you don’t have to do things anymore.”

How to proceed?

About the last three years, he said that by the end of the last tour season, he was tired and had a constant feeling of fear, he was constantly nervous. He considers this to be the lowest point, but he is past that stage.

“But apart from that, we were full of energy, there was always a big result, there was never a moment of backwardness”.

The next period is about planning: this quarter lays the foundation for the year, and even the next three years. This phase is happening now, but they are also embarking on a European tour. For now, he’s still looking for inspiration, but he knows it will come sooner or later. In the past, he always planned the albums, knew how many tracks he wanted to record, but now he approaches the process differently: he takes a more relaxed approach, he produces the tracks so that he will be able to choose from more depth.

It says to those living in the bubble:

it won’t get better, but steps can be taken to spend more time in reality.
