Ayn has unveiled its highly anticipated dual-screen handheld, the Thor, immediately drawing comparisons to the classic Nintendo DS. The new device will be available in multiple configurations.


The Thor Lite is launching wiht a preorder price of $249, while the top-tier Thor Max will retail for $429. A Base model is priced at $299, and a Pro version at $349.

The Thor boasts a primary six-inch AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, complemented by a secondary 3.92-inch AMOLED screen operating at 60Hz. The Lite model is equipped with a Snapdragon 865 processor, while the Base, Pro, and Max models will utilize the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. All versions run on the Android operating system.

Configuration Options

The Thor is clearly ‘inspired’ by the Nintendo DS with its upper and lower displays.

The Lite model includes 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage,while the Max version can be configured with 16GB of memory and a massive 1TB of storage.The base model features 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the Pro offers 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The Thor also incorporates a 6000 mAh battery,video output capabilities,a USB-C port,a 3.5mm audio jack, and a TF card slot. Wi-Fi and bluetooth provide connectivity.

Ayn has reinforced the hinge for enhanced durability and included an active cooling system along with Hall effect joysticks.

Preorders are currently open, with shipments scheduled to commence in mid-October. The Thor will be offered in black, white, rainbow, and clear purple color options.

This launch arrives amidst increasing competition in the dual-screen handheld market, with recent releases including Ayaneo’s Pocket DS and Retroid’s Flip 2.
