During the school vacation season, the Mariscal Cáceres school has been developing a series of vacation courses that include sports, academic and technical activities, in a context where various educational institutions in Ayacucho implement alternatives for the use of free time for children and adolescents.
Among the activities underway is table tennis, which is taught at the Leoncio Prado stadium and can be accessed by students from the school itself and from other educational institutions. The activity is carried out through an agreement that allows the use of tables, materials and the participation of a teacher, at no cost to attendees.
In parallel, the team has reported that in the coming days the incorporation of other sports workshops, such as basketball and kickboxing, is planned as part of the vacation offer aimed at physical practice during the summer. On an academic level, reinforcement courses in mathematics and communication have been taught, aimed mainly at students who have difficulties in these areas.
The programming also includes technical and artistic workshops, including cooking and guitar courses, which were defined after agreements adopted in an assembly of parents and teachers at the end of last year.
Along with the development of these activities, the institution has indicated that the restriction of the use of cell phones within the school will be applied, a measure adopted with the support of parents, after the use of these devices was identified as a recurring distraction factor during learning sessions.
In another aspect, it was reported on the current state of the Leóncio Prado stadium, infrastructure used for part of the sports courses. The land has already been delivered to the Regional Government and the improvement project is in the consulting stageafter the corresponding sanitation has been carried out. As indicated, the technical process includes several deliverables before defining the start of the work.
Likewise, within the vacation offer, a artificial intelligence course, developed with the support of university engineering and systems students from Unschas part of the technological activities that are being promoted in the local educational field.
At the national level, the Ministry of Education has indicated that vacation courses and extracurricular workshops allow us to reinforce learning, promote physical activity and reduce the time of unsupervised exposure to electronic devices during the school break.
