Autumn Fertilization: Blocking Periods for Farmers

by Archynetys Health Desk

The fertilizer regulation prohibits the exposure of fertilizers with a significant content of nitrogen in certain periods, the so -called blocking periods. This includes all organic and mineral fertilizers with a total nitrogen content of more than 1.5 % N in the dry matter. The start of the blocking deadline is not only dependent on the cultivated culture, but also on the location of the area. In areas in the red area, there are sometimes stricter requirements and longer blocking periods. Figure 1 gives an overview of the blocking periods of the individual cultures and areas.
