Australia supports removing former Prince Andrew from the line of succession to the British throne.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says he has spoken with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
If the United Kingdom wishes to make changes in the line of succession, the British need the consent of the 14 other Commonwealth countries that have King Charles III as head of state.
– Australia likes to be first, and we have made sure that everyone knows our position. We are writing to the other Commonwealth countries today to inform them of our position,” Albanese told the broadcaster ABC Tuesday.
