Authorities in Australia are searching for a man who allegedly shot two police officers, offering a significant reward for information leading to his capture.

The search continues in Australia for a “heavily armed violent perpetrator” who allegedly shot two officials.A reward of up to one million Australian dollars (around 560,000 euros) has been offered for information that leads to his arrest. The 56-year-old suspect is believed to be associated with the self-proclaimed sovereign Citizens movement, an ideological group.

On August 26, police visited the man’s property, located approximately 300 kilometers northeast of Melbourne, to execute an arrest warrant related to sexual offenses. According to reports, the man “suddenly opened the fire,” resulting in the deaths of two police officers and serious injuries to a third. The 56-year-old then fled into the dense forest with “several firearms.”

More than 450 police officers are currently involved in the daily search efforts. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information regarding his whereabouts.
