Lucio acknowledges the moral dilemma they face but insists that their options are limited. “Si te creo que se mueve, pues literalmente pues es una vida, quieras o no, es una vida, obviamente ya estaba formado pues ya llevaba ratísimo ahí, ¿no? Yo creo que por eso te daba muchos dolores y también pues sacaste mucha sangre y también es lo que es, es un feto,” he explains.

His desperation is further evident as he gives specific instructions on how to dispose of the baby, showing little regard for the life they once hoped to bring into the world. “Envuélvelo en papel, tíralo, y bueno, sí ya salió significa que para lo que era la pastilla, ya pasó, ya funcionó, entonces, no se amor, es que yo también estoy nervioso, tranquila, trata de tranquilizarte y aquí estoy yo, si lo necesitas yo voy contigo,” he continues.

Later in the conversation, Lucio pleads with Diana to hand the baby over to him. “Ahorita si quieres me lo das a mí, yo me lo llevo, yo lo tiro, pero tranquilízate por favor, mira, relájate, respira, porque si te pones así te vas a bloquear y no vas a hacer nada,” he concludes, showing his willingness to take the blame.

Following the traumatic events, Lucio found himself facing the ire of Diana’s family. “Estábamos nosotros en su cuarto, bueno, ahí donde me quedaba yo con ella, con mi pareja y bajó su tío, bajó su mamá y me preguntaron que qué hice, les dije que por qué y me enseñaron la publicación y pues nos empezaron a decir de cosas,” he recalls.

Diana’s mother demanded that he leave their home, and her uncle physically confronted him. “La señora me dijo yo quiero que te vayas y ya no te quiero volver a ver, agarra todas tus cosas y no vas a regresar aquí. El tío de mi pareja nada más me dio una cachetada,” Lucio narrates.

Faced with this overwhelming crisis, he was forced to leave behind possessions and gather what he could in a panic. “Estaba actuando bajo presión, no sé qué tenía en la cabeza y simplemente dejé al bebé y me fui,” he admits, relaying the traumatic sequence of events that led to his flight.

The repercussions of their actions have been severe. Lucio eventually turned himself in to authorities, where he faced charges and was placed under arrest. Diana, having undergone surgery, was hospitalized, adding an emotional toll to the tragedy.
