The Soup Festival is returning to Terreiro da Erva in Coimbra. This event, which takes place between the 26th and 28th of April, allows you to consume 19 soups for the cost of 10 euros. As an offering they get a clay cup, a spoon and a napkin.

The Union of Parishes of Coimbra and the City Council of Coimbra are promoting another edition of the Soups Festival on the weekend between April 26th and 28th. Spread across Terreiro da Erva, there will be 19 institutions in the municipality that will serve festival kit holders with different types of soups.
The new addition is Partridge and Chickpea Soup, but there will be no shortage of Nettle, Juliana, Pumpkin, Stone, Fish or even Cod Soup, among other options.

All of these specialties will be prepared by volunteers from the institutions who, at each meal, will have at least 50 liters of soup available to those who have the kit to serve.
“In the case of the most requested soups, institutions were asked to make an effort to have at least twice as much at each meal”, stated, at the press conference, the president of the Union of Parishes of Coimbra.
João Francisco Campos said that the board invests 5,000 euros in this event, but the profit resulting from the sale of the kits goes back to the 19 institutions present.
As happened last year, the book with the passwords for the 19 soups can be used during the three days of the festival.

For mayor José Manuel Silva, the success of the 2023 edition confirms the success of choosing Terreiro da Erva to carry out this type of initiatives.
