There has been a traffic accident between a car and a lorry on Slemmestadveien in Asker on Monday morning. One person appears to have serious injuries after the accident.
– The driver of the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Does not appear to be life-threatening, writes operations manager Bjørn Gunnar Nysæter in an update to the press.
The driver of the lorry appears physically unharmed but is being examined by health personnel.
In an update, the police write that the driver of the passenger car had lost his driving license 20 minutes before the accident, when he was stopped by a police patrol.
Road closed in both directions
They add that there is major material damage, and that it “will affect traffic for some time to come”.
In an update a few minutes later, Nysæter writes that the road is currently closed in both directions.
The police reported the incident at 10.31am.
