The deserted island

Authorship and direction: Marc Artigau. Interpretation: Miki Esparbé and Maria Rodríguez. Theater of Salt, February 4.

It’s a classic “boy meets girl”., one of those random things that unites us and at the same time separates us, as could a romantic comedy signed by Nora Ephron in the nineties or, going further back, one by Leo McCarey, if instead of the Empire State Building the thing there are elevators. It’s a classic boy meets girl, though he is aware of it and that’s why he plays, and he does it very well, with the clichés, with the shared references, with the “what if?”, with the fourth wall. “Has anyone here ever been very, very, very happy? But really happy, to lose control and become an idiot,” one of the protagonists asks the audience before starting.

This part of the game is entirely due to Marc Artigau, author and director of The deserted islanda sad comedy, as he defines it himself, with classic airs, because it is very well made and the public likes it – two premises that do not always go together.

Sentinelles, three theatrical scores for the same love of music

Allegro vivace: in the theater, where time can weigh with all its weight on the mind prey to long troubles, two and a half hours of performance that flies by is a gift to be enjoyed at its true value. Jean-François Sivadier offers this with his formidable Sentinelswhich have continued to tour since their creation, in 2021, and are returning to the Théâtre du Rond-Point, in Paris, where they are promised the same success as that which they have encountered everywhere else.

For him, theater and music have always been combined in the same loving movement. Whether it is dramatic art or lyrical art, for twenty years Sivadier has been staging classics like Dom Juan, Othello, The Traviata or Carmen. But he is also the inventor of new forms, where the love of music gives birth to theater itself: this was, in particular, Italian with orchestra (later renamed Italian stage and orchestra), cult show created in 1997, and regularly replayed for twenty years.

Sentinels belongs to this vein, which turns in all directions the possibilities offered by the theater to talk about music,

Watchan old video of students at Al-Naseem School in Riyadh in 2010 Al-Marsad newspaper

Al-Marsad newspaper: Social media pioneers circulated a rare video clip from inside Al-Naseem Secondary School in Riyadh in 2010.

The video showed a state of chaos inside the classroom, with some students clapping, dancing, and banging on the wooden chairs.

The video showed a number of students covering their faces with scarves, while one of them was sleeping on the desk.

It is worth noting that the Al-Naseem High School series is currently being shown on the Shahid platform, and its events take place in a high school located in the Al-Naseem neighborhood in Riyadh. The school’s teenage students confront their new teacher, Abdullah (Khaled Saqr), who holds a master’s degree in education reform. Then the student Mishal challenges him and declares that he will force him. Desperate to flee high school before the end of the school year, Professor Abdullah accepts the challenge, beginning a reform, psychological and moral battle waged by the young teacher with the aim of reforming his students and changing their behavior.

A new weather woman and a world of sign language: this was The Dream Factory

Nette (10, Kalmthout) was a weather woman for a while

Nette’s big dream was to present it again. She unofficially kicked off the program by invading Sabine Hagedoren’s studio before the first episode had even started. Together they presented the weather forecast. Their ultimate tip: watch The Dream Factory under a blanket, because it would still be dark.

Elly (20 years old, Wevelgem) followed in her mother’s footsteps and designed the ‘Droomfabriek’ bears

Elly is the granddaughter of Daisy Cools, who designed and produced the iconic Droomfabriek bear with her company 30 years ago. So many years later and just after the death of her ‘mamie’, she really wanted to design the new bears in her honor. Gloria took her to a sewing workshop, where they designed the new bear. The end result was shown in the studio. Elly’s grandfather was in the studio and was clearly emotional.

Otto (12, Ghent) is greeted by everyone in sign language

It was the moment from the first episode. Otto is a cheerful, outgoing 12-year-old. He was born deaf, but that doesn’t stop him from talking wildly to every stranger he meets.

Rome Calendar, Aka Hot Priest Calendar: An Urban Legend Or Artistic Hit?

Anyone browsing through the countless souvenir shops in Rome can hardly miss the calendario romano. The “Rome Calendar”, colloquially known as the hot priest calendar, contains twelve black and white photos of attractive pastors or young men in a church context. Some look straight into the lens, others were captured for eternity during a Catholic procession.

To the amusement of many Romans, the friendly smiling young man on the cover of the calendar – like many of the photos in the calendar itself – has been the same for years. That’s why it was rumored that the fresh cover boy is a pastor in Milan, now 84 years old.

It is an urban legend, because Giovanni Galizia is 37 years old today and comes from Palermo, Sicilian. He was 17 when the photo was taken, and he has never been a priest. Galizia works as a steward for an airline. After twenty years, the calendario romano, balancing between the sacred and the secular, still appears to be a hit with tourists. The calendar would also score well in the gay community.

In electricity, the companies molded their offers for the consumption thresholds of the capping-compensation scheme.

More precisely, customers with consumption below 100 kWh have 19 offers equal to the ceiling price (0.68 lei/kWh).

The offers are valid from the beginning of February. It is worth noting that their number is increasing day by day; yesterday, for example, there were 17 offers with the ceiling price.

Among the companies offering the lowest price we list Getica 95, Enterex, E.ON, Electrica Furnizare, MET Romania, OMV Petrom.

It is noted, at the same time, that Hidroelectrica is no longer the cheapest company, having offers at a price above the ceiling (0.77 lei/kWh).

For the next consumption threshold, i.e. between 100 and 255 kWh, Hidroelectrica is the only one that has a price below the ceiling (the same 0.77 lei/kWh).
