Arsenal makes every effort to achieve victory in every match. Not only the players, Mikel Arteta as the team manager is also seen as doing the same thing on the sidelines.

One of Arteta’s actions was highlighted by fans in the middle of the Arsenal vs Aston Villa match. He was seen leaving his technical area as Villa’s Jadon Sancho approached the touchline to beat Piero Hincapie.

Arteta’s action was seen as an attempt to stop Jadon Sancho’s ball from moving from the edge of the field. Fans also commented on the actions of the Spanish coach who were considered to have carried out ‘dark’ tactics.

“Arteta’s pressing was really effective! Sancho had no other way but to go backwards,” one fan wrote on X while uploading a video of the incident.

“Arteta is guarding Sancho, really my favorite manager,” one Arsenal supporter commented.

After all, this is not the first time Arteta has left his technical area in front of opposing players. According to the Daily Mail, he did that when Arsenal clashed with Crystal Palace on December 23 2025.

Arteta also disturbed Tottenham Hotspur player Dejan Kulusevski from the sidelines in September 2023. His actions even annoyed Kevin de Bruyne and pushed him during the Arsenal vs Man City duel in February 2023.
