Spanish Mikel Arteta, coach of the English team Arsenal, revealed two new injuries among his team.

Frenchman Gabriel, Arsenal’s defender, was injured in the team’s last match against Crystal Palace in the English Premier League. He left the field and was replaced by his teammate Christian Mosquera.

Declan Rice, the Gunners midfielder, and his fellow defender, Riccardo Calafiore, received two hits in the Crystal Palace match, but they will not miss the next match.

Arsenal is preparing to face Brighton Albion, as part of the round of 16 matches of the English Professional League Cup, Carabao.

Arteta announces the absence of the Arsenal duo from the Brighton match

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s coach, confirmed the absence of Frenchman William Saliba, the team’s defender, and Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli from the Brighton match due to injury.

Arteta said in the press conference for the match: “Saliba is out of the Brighton match. We are evaluating his condition at the moment, but he will not be ready to participate in the match.” Arteta did not reveal the duration of the player’s absence.

He added: “It seems that Arteta will be absent from the field. We have to conduct more tests to determine the extent of his injury. It will be too early to try to include him in tomorrow’s match.”

Arteta also listed his team’s absences in the offensive line, which were as follows: “Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, Noni Madueke.”

Arsenal and Brighton match date

The match between Arsenal and Brighton Albion, in the round of 16 of the English Professional League Cup, Carabao, begins at a quarter to eleven today, Wednesday, at the Emirates Stadium.
