A Christmas miracle came to Arkansas with one resident winning the record $1.817 billion Powerball jackpot in Wednesday’s Christmas Eve drawing.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A resident from Arkansas has received a record-breaking Christmas gift after winning the $1.817 billion Powerball jackpot in Wednesday’s Christmas Eve drawing.

This makes it the second time that a Powerball jackpot was won in the natural state, the first being in 2010.

The winning ticket was sold at a Murphy USA gas station in Cabot, Arkansas, lottery officials in Arkansas said Thursday.

The winning numbers were 04, 25, 31, 52, and 59, with the Powerball number being 19.

One player has won that second-largest prize in U.S. history and the largest Powerball prize of 2025.

The winning ticket was sold in a state that grants anonymity to lottery winners who win a prize of over $500,000. The winner will likely stay anonymous.

The Winner has the option to receive a lump-sum cash payment of $834.9 million.

“Congratulations to the newest Powerball jackpot winner! This is truly an extraordinary, life-changing prize,” Matt Strawn, Powerball Product Group Chair and Iowa Lottery CEO, was quoted as saying by the website. “We also want to thank all the players who joined in this jackpot streak — every ticket purchased helps support public programs and services across the country.”

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery stated that there were also two other Arkansas residents who one Powerball prizes.

One person from Rogers won $100,000, and another from Little Rock won $50,000.
