After having been one of their big Christmas bets and after having been broadcast in access prime time on Mondays as a substitute for ‘La Revuelta’, this Monday, January 12, La 1 has broadcast the grand finale of ‘ARIA, locos por la opera’ in which we have known the winner.
The latest gala of ‘ARIA, crazy about opera’, which once again featured Ruth Lorenzo as master of ceremonies, and Juanjo Bona from backstage, started in style with the six finalists performing a lyrical version of ‘Viva la vida’ by Coldplay.
Afterwards, each finalist went on stage to perform new world-famous arias to win over the jury made up of the soprano Isabel Rey, Zapata Tenor, the conductor Virginia Martínez and the secret jury, whose identity was finally going to be revealed.
The first finalist to perform in this final of ‘ARIA, crazy about opera’ was Carmen performing ‘Der Hole Rache’ (The Magic Flute). Then it was Guillem’s turn with ‘Votre toast, je peux vous le rendre’, the iconic Song of the Toreador, from Carmen de Bizet. While Klaudya chose ‘Casta Diva’ from Bellini’s Norma and Marina did the same with ‘Mein Herr Marquis’ from Strauss’ The Bat. For her part, Merlyn covered ‘Stride la vampa’ from Verdi’s Il trovatore and finally, Aseel, performed ‘Sempre libera’ from La Traviata.
After the six performances, it was time to find out the jury’s evaluations and which three finalists moved on to the next phase to fight for victory in the grand final round. Thus, Ruth Lorenzo announced that the three superfinalists of the talent produced by gestmusic were Aseel, Guillem y Claudia.
Klaudya, winner of the first edition of ‘ARIA, crazy about opera’
Before listening to the three super finalists sing thirty seconds of the aria they had performed a cappella, it was time to find out who the secret jury of ‘ARIA, crazy about opera’ was: the Mexican Javier Camarena, one of the most successful international tenors.
Finally, Javier Camarena, as the leader of the jury, announced that the winner of the first edition of ‘ARIA, crazy about opera’ was Klaudya, who thus won the prize of 15,000 euros as well as the opportunity to perform at the prestigious Granada International Music and Dance Festival.
“Thanks to the entire production team and my colleagues because without them I would not have been able to be here, they have taken care of me, they have encouraged me every day, I have had days of depression because I thought I was going to make a fool of myself and they have encouraged me. Thanks to Isabel for always encouraging me and thanks to my family. My mother had been wanting me to sing Casta Diva for years and to thank my sister and my brother-in-law who are the ones who have come because my parents cannot travel for health reasons,” the winner of ‘ARIA, crazy about opera’.
