Argentine Authorities Are Planning To Take Money From…

by drbyos

The Argentine government will seek to recover 134.5 million pesos ($158.6 thousand) from participants in anti-government demonstrations for the costs of the operation to maintain order. This was announced on Monday by the country’s Security Minister Patricia Bullrich, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.

“We have filed information with the court regarding the costs of the operation so that when those responsible are identified, they will be forced to cover the costs. To the 134,468,038.08 pesos, we will add the costs of providing medical care to the injured employees,” she wrote in X.

From January 31 to February 2, demonstrations took place in front of the Argentine Congress building against the reform package of President Javier Miley, which is currently being considered by parliament. According to the mayor of Buenos Aires, Jorge Macri, the participants caused damage to city property and the authorities will seek punishment for them. The most violent clashes between protesters and law enforcement officers occurred on February 1, when police and gendarmerie used rubber bullets, pepper spray, water cannon and batons against demonstrators to prevent the street from being blocked.

The Danish Ministry Of Defense Has Not Ruled…

Russia is rearming faster than expected and could attack a NATO country within three to five years. Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said this in an interview with the Danish newspaper “Jyllands-Posten”.

“Russia’s potential in the production of military equipment has grown enormously,” said the Danish minister.

He emphasized that Denmark should speed up its military investments.

“It cannot be ruled out that within three to five years, Russia will test the strength of Article 5 and the solidarity of NATO. It was not NATO’s assessment in 2023, it is new knowledge that is now coming to the fore,” the head of the Danish Defense Department emphasized.

Poulsen noted that there is no direct threat to Denmark, but the Alliance could face hybrid attacks aimed at destabilizing the member state.

“Russia has a potential desire to do this. Now they may also have a chance to gain military capability sooner than we expected. There are grounds for real concern,” he said.

Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan Announces Run For…

Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan has made a surprising announcement, declaring his candidacy for the US Senate. His decision has provided Republicans with a strong candidate in their attempt to flip a seat in the traditionally Democratic state. Hogan, known for his moderate record and willingness to criticize fellow Republican Donald Trump, believes that Washington is “completely broken” and that he is “completely fed up with politics as usual.”

The former governor’s entry into the race has the potential to shake up not only the Maryland race but also the entire battle for control of the Senate. Democrats currently hold a one-seat advantage, and with incumbents already on the defensive in several Republican-leaning states, Hogan’s candidacy adds another layer of uncertainty.

Republicans are celebrating the news, relishing the opportunity to watch Chuck Schumer’s reaction. Josh Holmes, the top political adviser to Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, expressed his excitement on social media. Two years ago, McConnell and other prominent Republicans had urged Hogan to challenge Sen. Chris Van Hollen. They saw him as a potential moderate with significant power in a closely divided Senate, likening him to West Virginia Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin.

Hogan had previously entertained the idea of running for the Senate but had always been hesitant to commit.
