Arrival of Argentina team: Hiby Eden MP says mysterious financial transactions took place
Kochi: Hibi Eden MP has said that there are mysterious financial transactions behind the campaign of bringing the Argentinian football team to Kochi. He said that the transactions related to the renovation of the Kochi stadium are also full of mystery. Hiby Eden challenged that the contract between the GCDA and the sponsor for the demolition and construction of the stadium should be made public immediately.
Hibi Eden pointed out that the future of the Kochi stadium has become a big question mark. “Cricket has disappeared from here. News of even Kerala Blasters leaving Kochi is worrying. GCDA’s biggest source of income was the rent paid by Kerala Blasters as their home ground. Now the stadium is in limbo,” M.P. Said.
He also expressed doubts about the competence of the companies carrying out the construction work at the stadium. He also raised questions about the cutting down of all the trees around the stadium. The concerned should clarify whether the conditions to be followed by the local bodies while cutting the trees on the road have been followed here.
Hibi Eden also asked where the agreement between GCDA and the sponsor was. He also asked to clarify under whose supervision the contract works are being executed.
