ARD/ZDF StreamingOS
In 2024, ARD and ZDF further expanded their cooperation in the joint project Streamingos: On the one hand, the contents cosmos that can be reached by both media libraries grow continuously, and on the other hand, ARD and ZDF 2024 have an extensive expansion of their cooperation in the areas of technology and development. For example, a jointly used player or recommendation technology are planned. The results of these technology cooperations are to be made available as open source technologies for the general public for free use. In this context, a joint project office is set up in Mainz that takes over the control, coordination and project management of development activities in streamingos.
ARD Online in der ARD Tech Unit
The future belongs to common technical solutions – this requires standards for the entire ARD. The ARD Tech Unit was founded to implement the common standards and solutions. ARD Online is part of this ARD Tech Unit and controls the “Platforms” business area: The tasks of ARD Online includes the development of the digital offers of the ARD and the joint platform system from ARD, ZDF and Deutschlandradio.
