Apple Store Geneva: Potential City Center Move

Apple would like to move its Geneva store, according to the site With. The current store, Apple Rue de Rives, has been located at number 4 rue de Rives since its opening in 2008. It was then the first Swiss Apple Store and Apple had chosen the most popular commercial axis in Geneva, but not necessarily in its heart, further west. This is clearly what the move would correct, with a move of around 300 meters to be closer to the Rhône and the city center.

It is at the foot of this building located on rue du Marché that Apple would come to set up shop. Capture StreetView (because Apple doesn’t have equivalent images), image MacGeneration.

Concretely, Apple would target the two locations previously occupied by ready-to-wear stores, Mango and Colors of Benetton, located respectively at 8 and 12 rue du Marché. The article does not specify it, but we imagine that the Jack & Jones store between the two is also affected and that Apple would take over the three brands, all permanently closed. This is the entire sales area at the foot of the Fraser Suites hotel which could thus become a very good-sized Apple Store, which would no longer have much to do with the current narrow store.

Apple Rue de Rives is indeed a very small space, compared to current standards and we imagine that the sellers feel cramped there. This should no longer be the case if the operation is completed and the move is carried out as planned on the site With. We are talking here about approximately 36 linear meters, for what should be a very large store, probably one of these “flagships” like the Parisian store on the Champs-Élysées.

Contacted by our colleagues, Apple did not wish to comment on the rumor. In any case, the current store is narrow and the work carried out last year has not fundamentally changed it.
